FAQ

What is the St. Joan Alumni Association and who is eligible to join?

Right now our group is in the beginning stages of development. We held our first board elections in Nov. of 2008. We are a group of former SJA grads/Staff trying to establish connections and bring people back together.  The group has also elected to raise funds to aid families who are struggling with the rising cost of tuition.  Any former graduate who wishes to be a part of this group is invited as well as staff, family, and friends of St. Joan of Arc.

How do I join the Alumni Association?

Fill out your contact information in the profile section of this site or send your information to alumni@stjoan.net We will enter your information onto our database and notify you when alumni events come up.  There is no fee to become a member.

Is there a fee to be a member of the Group?

It does not cost any money to be a member of our group. We will accept donations if anyone chooses to send them. Those donations will be used for website upkeep and hosting alumni events.  We also have started a fund to aid with tuition assistance.

I am not a graduate but attended SJA for a few years, can I sign up?

You can absolutely sign up.  Send us a message under the contact us link with your name, and let us know what year you would have graduated in so that we can put you in with the correct classmates.  We are able to verify your info from yearbooks and records.

Can current or former teachers/staff join the website?

Please!! We are looking for you!  In most cases, you are the number one thing the former students are interested in.  Share what you have been doing, post a few pictures.  You can check in to see what your former students have accomplished.  If your name does not appear under the teachers/staff link it is not because you were underappreciated.  Please let us know, and we will be happy to add you.

What type of assistance can you give in regards to reunion planning?

We can provide you with names and partial contact information for most class years.  We may be able to provide a venue for your function, and offer low-cost DJ services.  Many classes have chosen to set up a mass and a school tour to aid in their walk down memory lane. We have fellow alumnus involved in catering, floral arrangements, promotional items, printing, liquor store ownership, media, and photography.  We can help you create a memorable experience while supporting the businesses of our former classmates.

How do we use the Live Chat Feature?

The live chat feature can be used by anyone who is a member of our website.  You do not need a special password to log in.  Just typing in your name is sufficient.  If you would like to schedule a chat session for your class, send us a message, and we will e-mail an invite to your graduating class. (i.e. The class of 1978 will have a chat session on Thursday at 8 p.m.)

What can I do to help the Alumni Association?

There are a number of ways people can help or participate in our group.  Right now our biggest need is to locate former classmates and let them know we exist.  You can help by

  •  Contacting people you graduated with and still keep in touch with
  • Volunteering to research graduates whereabouts through the internet/phone books/former directories, etc... (Contact us and we can give you a list to start with)
  • Send us any names we are missing-especially pre-1973, scan and send class pictures if possible

Provide your occupational information, and let us know if you would be willing to share your services with fellow alumni or school administration.  Our group and the school could benefit greatly from any career you are involved with.  The school is always in need of some service, advice, or assistance.  They would love to be able to utilize your talents and abilities. (i.e Doctors/Nurses could give presentation to kids about substance abuse, the kids could break a sink off the wall (plumber), The boiler could be broken again and the classrooms are 85 degrees in the winter, New windows may need to be purchased, We could have grafitti on the side of the brick, brochures may need to be printed, t-shirts may need to be made, the web server could be out for the 50th time this month, Mr. Ancypa decides to fly a helicopter over the school and take a picture, Hospitality may need to provide centerpieces for a luncheon, a legal matter may need to be looked into, we may want to hire a waitstaff for a function, the possibilities are truly endless.)
